Jeffrey Driscoll (13) Underwent Surgery to Replace Broken Cadaver Bone

Jeffrey Driscoll of Ravena, NY Underwent surgery on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 to replace the bone at his elbow with Titanium and it had to be attached to the arm bone with a rod. Mom reports that Jeffrey was in the hospital for 2 days and is recovering quicker than the first surgery that he had on his arm. Reason being- Jeffrey was receiving Chemo treatments back then, not now. We are pleased to report that there is NO sign of Cancer at this writing. Get well soon Jeffrey! -Your Friends at ACCFCB.

Jeffrey, age 13 was diagnosed in September of 2008 with Ewing Sarcoma- a rare form of bone cancer. In early 2009 Jeffrey underwent surgery to remove some of his right arm bone, from his shoulder to his elbow which was replaced with cadaver bone.

On December 6, 2009, the cadaver bone in Jeffrey's right arm sadly broke while he was throwing a football. This is a very unfortunate incident for Jeffrey who had to undergo this major surgery again.

Aiden Torres Undergoes 4th surgery since his birth on Thanksgiving 2009....

On Wednesday, January 20, 2010 Aiden Torres, born on Thanksgiving 2009 Undergoes his 4th surgery to repair a bowel obstruction. He is recovering in Albany Medical Center Hospital's (AMCH) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). His prognosis is very good at this writing, surgeons believe that they may have finally pinpointed the reason for the slow flow through hisintestines. Medical staff are monitoring Aiden closely and we along with obviously mom and dad are hopeful that this may be the turning point for Aiden in his recovery. Mom and Dad (Sara & Ed) are anxious to be able to bring their bundle of joy home someday and start their lives as a "normal" family.

Hi everybody,

Hope you all had a great holiday. It was a great holiday for us and January 9th went by without a problem.  January 9th was the anniversary of Connor's CRPS.  To celebrate he went snowboarding.  He bundled up and went out to enjoy.  It took him 4 days to get back to status quo but he did it. 

Connor and I are going back to Cleveland this week. The clinic is making an informational DVD and they want Connor to be a part.  The DVD will include footage from when he first went there until now.  They want to show his amazing progress. The local news in Cleveland (channel 3) also wants to interview him.  His story is one of their best successes.  Since you are all a part of his story I hope that I will be able to get a copy of the DVD and make it available if you want to see it.  Our family is so very grateful to all of you who made Connor' progress possible. Connor continues to fight everyday to get his life back and he grows stronger with every new accomplishment..  We don't want to think about where he would be if you all didn't help.  As I told the ACCFCB who were there with support, it took a village to get Connor well.  There is no way to thank everyone enough. I think of your help every time I hear Connor laugh or pound down the stairs. We know he will have to battle this disorder but where he is today is an amazing place.
