06-22-2010 Message from mom To Lieutenant Karam (ACCFCB's Liaison w/ family):
Hi Lt. Karam,
I am sorry I haven't kept in touch since Aiden has been home. We have had many doctors appointments and he is doing very well....Slowly but surely we are getting back on our feet. Eddie's parents have helped us a lot with settling back in. But I can't thank you, John and ACCFCB enough for the help while Aiden was at AMC.
Both you and John will be amazed how "normal" he looks. My friends look at him and can't even tell he has been through so much. Yesterday we were watching what we taped on our video camera, of when I was in labor up to when we left the NICU. I have to say, it brought tears to everyone. Eddie J, Dawn, Eddie C, and I will make it a point to be at the Golf Banquet. So we will all see you there, and Aiden of course.
I attached some current photos of Aiden.
-Sara, Eddie and Aiden
Aiden was born on Thanksgiving 2009 with Gastroschesis (Intestines outside of his body) and remained in Albany Medical Center's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit since his birth. After finally being released on March 22, 2010 after a 117 day stay, he was re-admitted for 23 more days undergoing more surgery and procedures. He thankfully dodged his last surgery after internal bleeding stopped.
Due to Aiden's condition, normal childhood ailments may cause problems for him and he will be monitored closely by doctors.
ACCFCB once again extends our Deep Appreciation and Thanks to: Lieutenant James Karam of the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office for helping this young family on behalf of our organization! (James was previously instrumental in assisting "Connor Moran" on behalf of ACCFCB as well).
Mr. Parker Bohn 111 is scheduled to golf in ACCFCB's 6th annual "Teed Off For Tots" golf event on Friday, June 25, 2010. He will be playing on Team Golf Galaxy.
We welcome our long time supporter, Mr Parker Bohn 111 to this years tournament and his attendance will add something very special to this years event.
We look forward to welcoming Parker Bohn 111! Special thanks to Mr Tom Bortle for arranging this very special guests appearance!
ACCFCB supports seriously ill children around Albany, New York's Capital Region since 2001.
