ACCFCB introduces the parents of Aiden Torres who's newborn infant remains in Albany Medical Center Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (AMCH NICU) since his birth on Thanksgiving 2009. Aiden is struggling with a condition called Gastroschesis- intestines born outside of his body.
Aiden's intestines were placed back inside his body with complications and several surgeries. His family and medical staff @ AMCH continue to pray that Aiden has a bowel movement before he can breast feed instead of receiving his current intravenous feedings- Please check back for updates on his condition. We will share photos of this beautiful baby boy when we receive them from mom and dad shortly.
ACCFCB met with Aiden's family at the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) on South Lake Avenue in Albany, NY on December 23, 2009 to give them the financial support needed so they can concentrate on getting their child well. ACCFCB also made a $1,000 donation to (RMH) in appreciation to them for also assisting Aiden's family with housing so they can remain near their son. We were given a tour of (RMH) by mom & dad and they spoke very highly of the accommodations and the hospitality there. Mom & dad said thank you to ACCFCB for our much needed support during their very difficult time.
