Aiden Torres, age 2 Home After Week in Hospital

Aiden spent nearly 1 week at Vassar Hospital being treated for pneumonia after experiencing coughing and breathing difficulties. We are pleased to announce that his appetite has returned along with his playfulness.

Aiden was born on Thanksgiving 2009 with Gastroschesis (Intestines outside of his body) and remained in Albany Medical Center's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit since his birth. After finally being released on March 22, 2010 after a 117 day stay, he was re-admitted for 23 more days undergoing more surgery and procedures. He thankfully dodged his last surgery after internal bleeding stopped.

Due to Aiden's condition, normal childhood ailments may cause problems for him and he will be monitored closely by doctors.

Introducing Alexander 'AJ' Ballard, age 1

Alexander "AJ" age 15 months from Latham, NY

AJ was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation, Type 1- a condition where the lower back of the skull is too small or misshaped causing crowding of the brain and pressing it down against the spinal cord. He underwent surgery to make room in his skull and spent the last 2 months of 2011 in the hospital recovering. Doctors have not determined whether there is permanent nerve damage nor the extent.

AJ is currently being fed via a G-Tube. He has a portable ventilator requiring suction due to aspiration. Mom said, 'AJ is always smiling and laughing...Now that he is home, he is getting stronger and bigger every day'

Aiden was admitted this week to Vassar Hospital to be treated for pneumonia after experiencing coughing and breathing difficulties. He is receiving oxygen and his wonderful appetite is slowly returning.

Letter of Thanks After Son Battled Organ Rejection

Buddy Lafontaine beats back triple organ rejection

Buddy just returned from a month long stay in Boston Children's Hospital battling organ rejection. With our supporters help, we continue assisting Buddy and his family. We are pleased to report that Buddy is improving.

Matthew "Buddy" LaFontaine age 16, was diagnosed in April 2002 with Primary Hyperoxaluria Type I. This is a rare genetic condition of too much oxalate (salt form of acid) present in the urine causing kidney stones/ kidney failure which eventually required a transplant operation.

On January 22, 2009, Buddy courageously underwent a triple transplant surgery replacing his Liver and both Kidneys @ Boston Children's Hospital which would not have been possibly without the generosity of an unknown organ donor. He continues to celebrate his new birthday, January 22.

Buddy received ACCFCB's 2010 "COURAGE AWARD" at our "Teed Off For Tot's" awards banquet June 25, 2010 @ Fairways Of Halfmoon.

We congratulate Maia Santoro on a wonderful job!! Maia along with everyone at Tina Marie's dance academy performed to raise much needed funds for Albany County Correctional Facility for Children's Benefit's seriously ill children (www.accfcb.org). Maia's video is a wonderful example of the talent that was on display January 27, 2012, at Voorheesville,(NY) High School Performing Arts Center. A Job well done by all involved!!!
