Barbara, (ACCFCB's 2nd VP) was diagnosed with Peripheral T Cell Lymphoma (PTCL), a malignant cancer of the white blood T cells that can grow in any part of the body. T-cell Lymphoma is a rare disease in which T Lymphocyte cells become cancerous. These lymphomas account for between 10 percent and 15 percent of all cases of non-hodgkin Lymphoma in the United States (approximately 5,000 to 6,000 cases) a year.
Barb is awaiting her return to Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute after some setbacks to resume her Stem Cell Transplantation treatment.
Thank you for joining Sheriff Craig D. Apple, Sr., Albany County Sheriff's Department, Village of Green Island, Albany County Correctional Facility for Children's Benefit at the American Red Cross blood drive to honor Barb and help those requiring blood transfusions.
Your thoughts and prayers are a blessing as Barb continues her journey from treatment to recovery- 'No One Fights Alone'!!
