Cameron Stackman, age 12 celebrates the 10th anniversary of his double organ transplant surgery.
Cameron was born November 1, 2001 with a condition known as Gastroschisis- (Intestines outside of his body). He lost all but 2cm of his small intestine due to the intestines being kinked cutting off blood flow. From day one it was known he'd need an intestinal transplant.
Cameron received his transplanted liver and small intestine on February 6, 2003 at Mount Sinai Medial Center in Manhattan. The transplant was a complete success.
Cameron was the very first child that ACCFCB supported and we're proud to honor him and this milestone at our 2013 'Teed off for Tots' golf banquet!
