Deputy Barb McMullen's 2 year battle with Peripheral T Cell Lymphoma, a rare, malignant cancer of the white blood T cells that can grow in any part of her body has suffered a setback. Considered in remission she contracted Graft vs Host Disease, a complication where the newly transplanted donor cells are attacking her body. This has affected her eyes, lungs, mouth and face. Doctors are trying different medications to help regulate things. The Gaft vs Host is a complicated disease and not easily stabilized. Barb is incurring over $1000 in monthly out of pocket expenses traveling to Boston (hotel, parking, gas, food, medications) all while being unable to return to duty.
