Carter Jappa was born Premature on July 1, 2019 and has remained in Albany Medical Center Hospital's Neonatal ICU. When he is stable enough he will be transferred to the Blythe Dale Children's Hospital in Westchester Medical Center for further treatment.
Carter was born weighing just 14 ounces at 28 weeks. Carter has been treated with several blood transfusions, respiratory concerns via a tracheotomy tube, a G-Tube to deliver nutrients and has undergone hernia repair.
Carter's Mom, Danielle tells us that "Being a mother is discovering strengths you didn't know you had and dealing with fears you didn't know existed. This is what I live everyday, day in, day out ever since Carter was born. I've had to put a smile on my face for my oldest son Anthony (age 4), while facing my scariest days with Carter. There isn't an amount of love that can't carry me through each day for my sons."
We plan to support Carter and his wonderful family during their very difficult time. We pray that he continues to improve so he will someday soon be able to go home from the hospital with his family.
