Supporting Children Together!
We are so grateful to these supporting organizations who coordinate their efforts with the Albany County Correctional Facility for Children's Benefit, Inc. to support seriously ill children from the Capital Region of Albany, NY. Our volunteers are driven by the belief that amazing things happen when people work together to spark the potential in individuals and communities.

The Ethan M. Lindberg Foundation advocates for unique and collaborative approaches to medical and patient care that make a difference for children and families facing congenital heart disease.
When we started this foundation our goal was to create spaces, places and processes that bring healing to families facing congenital heart disease. We know that though we cannot always change the medical course a child and family experience, we can do some very practical things to make the journey easier. We know for sure that families can be financially and practically supported, that children can experience joy amidst illness and that families and doctors can work better together as they navigate care decisions. After all, this work is about our most precious gifts, our children.
One of our dreams was to provide a home away from home for families with frequent and long-term hospital stays. In November we rented our first apartment in Boston. So far we’ve had two families stay, one from New York and one from North Carolina. Boston is one of the most expensive cities in the United States. Families who travel there not only face their child’s illness, but also the challenge of affordable and accessible housing. It’s our goal to rent another apartment in 2016. Having a home away from home gives families a place of respite, a place to be a family, and some privacy after a long day. The place a family stays as they seek care for their child is an important part of the healing process.

Hospitality Homes- Boston "Rest assured"- Every year more than 260,000 people travel to Boston seeking treatment at some of the finest medical facilities in the world. With them come families and friends who lend support through what is often an arduous time in their lives. Unfortunately, many of these loved ones cannot afford the high cost of hotels in the Boston area.
That is where Hospitality Homes helps. Founded in 1983, we place families and friends in need of a place to stay in the homes of caring people who want to help. Our hosts, who live in Boston or nearby areas, provide guests with a spare bedroom in their homes knowing they are helping a patient's healing process.

I agree with the first two comments, children are very dependent and they need help, support, and guidance. I'm glad that there are hospitality homes which help these less fortunate children.

If anyone among the less fortunate needs help, it's the children. They're still naturally dependent and abandonment totally leaves them in the dark. People should fund more programs like this.

These hospitality homes are doing a noble job providing health care for the less fortunate. I do hope the government donate more funds to these charitable institutions.
